Berkshire Expands Client Relations Team

Company Hires Michael Coffey as Senior Vice President, and Jennifer Cooper as Manager

BOSTON, MA — APRIL 23, 2014 — Berkshire Group, a real estate investment management company known for its multifamily investment and operational experience, today announced the appointments of Michael Coffey as Senior Vice President, Client Relations, and Jennifer Cooper, Manager, Client Relations.

“Berkshire works with a range of institutional investors globally, and we believe that the addition of both Mike and Jen to our team will allow us to better reach and serve those investors,” said John Bottomley, Managing Director, Client Relations, for Berkshire Group.  “These hires are key to Berkshire, allowing us to enhance our capabilities in investor communication and servicing.”

Mr. Coffey will assume client relationship responsibilities for Berkshire, covering East Coast and Midwestern U.S. investors, and liaising with several national consultants. He joins Berkshire from Greenhill & Co. where he was a Vice President in the firm’s Real Estate Capital Advisory Group.  He previously held positions in the commercial real estate finance group at Guggenheim Partners, and at Credit Suisse where he was a member of both the real estate private fund group, and the real estate finance and securitization group.  He holds an undergraduate degree from Hamilton College.

Ms. Cooper will oversee all client and consultant due diligence requests and the onboarding of all new investor clients. Ms. Cooper was previously on the marketing and client service team at Guggenheim Real Estate, where she worked with the firm’s diversified, core-plus open-end fund, and helped to launch an international fund-of-funds. Prior to Guggenheim, she was with Wachovia Capital Partners, the private equity investing arm of Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo). She received an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University.

Both Mr. Coffey and Ms. Cooper will be based in Berkshire’s Boston office and will report to John Bottomley, Managing Director, Client Relations.
